Oh, okay, so the teachers first complain about the "hyperactivity" they have in class, and then when they ban soda, they complain that we're not "getting enough sleep". Then they get the parents involved, which pisses them off because not only do they have to put up with work, they have to put up with teachers and principals and school boards telling them how to raise their kid. Yeah, sure. I'd rather have hyperactivity in my class than all that bullshit anyday. If they're creating problems? Send them to the principal.
So in your opinion we should drug students so that they have more energy in class?
Basically.

Great, good thing Bill Clinton has that covered... I'm so happy that all the soda machines at my school were replaced by "juice" by the same company, Pepsi Co., which have no fruite content whatsoever and are just as sugray as those sodas they were selling us. Not to mention the caloric content. wtf?
Another thing: How is replacing caffein with corn syrup doing anything? Absolutely nothing. The shit they replace it with isn't healthy either; what are they trying to do? Make two wrongs right? It's stupid and a waste of time. Besides, kids can also just get this stuff from home, whether it be soda or coffee. Mainly coffee, because I'm sure the parents drink that in the morning, and then let their kids drink it, if they're completely insane of risking the stop of growth in a still growing child.

.50$ is not a bad price for pop in my school And I'm tired in school so soda gives me more energy todo my work.
50 cents? You're lucky. It's at least a buck here. Anyway, the solution to all this would be to change the start time of school to something much later and more reasonable, but of course, that's too much effort.....
Over here, it's according what size you get. If you get the 16 oz [I think that's it? Or maybe it's 8..] it's a dollar. If you get the tiny ones it's 60 cents. Sooo.. The only thing I agree with you, davjs, is the fact that these kids are wasting money on these pathetic products. I do not think we should "ban" caffein drinks, however, because the drinks they replace them with aren't doing jack shit in the long run, and also the teachers/principals/etc are now complaining about the kids being "too tired"-- and now they're preaching to the parents how to raise their kid. It's highly annoying.

I don't think they mean that. They should stop killing the students with 8 seperate classes who don't communicate with each other giving alot of homework in each class. The haviong school early in the day. Of course the students are to be tired.

You know...our teachers tried to balance our work load between our other classes. But when you have 30 students, who all are taking various courses, it is hard sometimes. And students need to suck it up. I used to have a few major projects due the same day/week and I always got them done by starting them when they were assigned. Not the night before. Saying all teachers assign things around the same time is a lame excuse for being tired. Students need to learn time management and hard work.

Actually that is not what I am talking about at all. homework is something to keep you practicing and on your feet, i am sorry but getting 25 problems every other night, and 3 worksheets for the opposing day in math. A time line thing to make in American Studies, and 5 chapters to read in english as well as having to write up 2 labs for what we did in science might seem like a bit to me each night. And that is not including the 8 page reserch paper i must turn in every other week in my L2K class. i never said they ASSIGN things around the same time, don't put words in my mouth thanks. I said they give HOMEWORK, a bit too much in my opinion, for one class each. they should keep the homework moderate, and small in size, and try and remember that you have about 7 other demanding teachers.

I disagree. Do you think when you start to get a job, or when you go to college, teachers/bosses are going to make it simpler for you to do a task, even when they are ten tasks to do at once? I think not. High school is supposed to prepare you for the future, and if you're actually enrolled into a school that does that-- consider yourself lucky. Half the shitheads at my school will probably not make it in the world just because the teachers gave it too easy for them.
